THE CASTAÑAR DE IBOR CAVE

It was discovered by chance when an animal plowing an olive grove near Castañar de Ibor sank its hindquarters into a hole opened in the ground.

AND THE ARCHAEOLOGICAL TREASURE

The oldest human remains in Extremadura, which indicate an important level of cultural development, are found in another cave in Castañar. It adds up to a huge number of archaeological sites that tell the stories of more than 20,000 years ago.
